Are You Worthy or Unworthy?

If you are born again, the following statements should never be part of your vocabulary:

“I’m just a sinner saved by grace.”

“I’m unworthy, but God loves me anyway.”

“God loves us even though we’re sinners.”

“I’m just a worm.”

“The only difference between me and others is that I’m forgiven.”

“Just a few more weary days and then I’ll fly away.”

Away with this nonsense! If you are born again, you are a new creation in Christ.  The new has come and the old has passed away. You are created after God in true righteousness and holiness.  You reign as a king in life.  You are a king and a priest unto God.  You are just as righteous as Jesus Christ because you have received the gift of His righteousness.   You used to be a sinner, but now you are a saint. You are worthy to walk into God’s very throne room. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you. Since we obey and serve Him, we spend our days in prosperity and our years in pleasures, not moping through weary days trying to hold out until the end.  You are not just a forgiven sinner – you are a child of God, born of His Spirit. They had forgiveness for sinners in the Old Testament, but under the New Testament, the sinner is not just forgiven, he is washed clean by the blood of Jesus and changed on the inside so that it’s no longer his natural inclination to sin. Your sins aren’t just covered like they were in Old Testament times – they’re GONE!  As far as God is concerned, they don’t exist and never will exist again. There is no longer any kind of partition between you and God.  You are CLEAN! You are not a dirty old sinner.  God doesn’t see you as one, and you should not see yourself as one, either.  You used to be one, but you’re not one anymore!  You are God’s dear child and you have a rich inheritance in Christ to enjoy!
