Are Some People Born Gay?

NO!  No one is born gay. That is a lie straight from the devil. God calls homosexuality “shameful”, “an abomination” and “vile passions”, not a genetically controlled, acceptable alternative lifestyle. The Gospel says that some people exchange the natural for the unnatural.  This happens more and more in a society that worships and serves created beings (like men -- including themselves!) rather than God.  Rampant homosexuality is a warning that a nation has turned from God! So the only solution is a move of God that wakes up the nation and turns it back to God! It’s really easy to try to put buckets under the faucet instead of fixing the leak.  The root issue is that the United States needs to turn back to God to stop the decay of society. We need the breath of God to blow on this land again!  Preachers sometimes blame homosexuals for degrading society, but if the Church were really doing its job, more people would be serving God rather than themselves, and that would cut off the root of the problem. Rather than condemning homosexuals (as opposed to condemning what they do), maybe we need to consider that maybe apathy in the Church toward soulwinning and revival may be what has allowed society to slip to this point!

Romans 1:26-27:
For this reason [worshiping and serving the creature rather than the Creator, verse 25] God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

If you had no choice about being gay, God could not judge you for it!  But He warns that no homosexual will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9) and He condemns homosexuality as an abomination (Leviticus 18:22). Christians are not even to eat with other people who claim to be Christians but are sexually immoral (1 Corinthians 5:11). (Of course, we need to reach out to sinners held captive by the bondage of homosexuality out in the world.)  Sin is always a choice. You could argue that in one way, everyone is born with a predisposition to sin in general because of Adam…but that still doesn’t excuse any of it!

And for those who think this is “hate speech” – ask anyone who used to be involved in homosexual perversion and has been set free by the Lord Jesus Christ if the gospel is hate speech!  It is actually the most loving speech there is. God loves us too much to not warn us about sin and its awful consequences.  His prohibitions are there for our protection, not to try to spoil our good times. People who are in bondage to perversion need to know that they can be set free by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
