Which of the following can you grow in as a believer according to the New Testament? (Bonus points if you can cite a verse for those you say YES to – I won’t be mean and make you cite the chapter and verse numbers.)
- A. Righteousness
- B. The knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
- C. Faith
- D. Wisdom
- E. Authority over Satan and demons
- F. Favor with God and men
Think about these before you peek at the answers below!
(Answers are below a few lines...)
“And Jesus increased in wisdom (D) and stature, and in favor with God and men (F).” (Luke 2:52)
“but grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (B)” (2 Peter 3:18)
“because your faith grows exceedingly” (C) (2 Thess 1:3)
“as your faith is increased (C)” (2 Cor 3:18)
In case you’re looking for (A) and (E), you won’t find them in the New Testament. When you are born again, you immediately become just as righteous as the Lord Jesus Christ Himself! You can’t possibly grow any more righteous than that! You also partake immediately of His victory over Satan and demons. You will never have any more authority over Satan than you did the minute you received Christ. It’s just a matter of learning what you already have! You are righteous and you have authority over Satan and demons. You already have all the authority over Satan, demons, sickness, pain and lack that you will ever get. It’s just a matter of using what is already yours!
Munch on that one for a while! (No net carbs.)
