How To Stay Out of the Dark

A lot is said about how to be led by the Spirit, but here is a key that is not always discussed.  Walk in love! Failure to do so will keep you in the dark, but walking in love will keep you in the light.

1 John 2:9-11:
He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.  But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where is he going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

I want to see where I’m going, so I can’t afford to walk in the dark by walking out of love. I had an opportunity to do it just recently because someone (not a PBFC person!) said something about Rosie that wasn’t very nice.  Thoughts of “getting even” flashed through my mind, but I had to make a quick decision not to say anything in response. I kept my mouth shut, and I made up my mind that I’ll never tell you who it was or what the person said because I’ve forgiven the person and love covers a multitude of sins!

I’m not impressed by how “religious” or “spiritual” someone acts.  James 1:26 says, “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.” A really spiritual person doesn’t backbite, gossip and plot how to get revenge by making someone else look bad.

When you walk in love, YOU WIN!
When you walk out of love, YOU LOSE!
