1 Corinthians 14:26 tells us that when we come together, each of us has something to share. 1 Corinthians 12 tells twice that the manifestations of the Spirit are given to each one for the profit of all. “Each one” includes you!
Do you realize that the Holy Spirit wants to use you as a vessel to bless others? But He won’t force you to do anything. You have to yield yourself to Him. All God asks for is your availability.
It doesn’t matter how old you are or how long you’ve been a Christian. The manifestations of the Holy Spirit are not merit badges for good Christian behavior. They’re based solely on GRACE! If you’re a Christian, grace and truth have come to you by Jesus Christ and you qualify for the Holy Spirit to use you!
I realize that this sort of thing may be new to some of you, and that’s OK. We haven’t come up with some new doctrine; we’re just teaching what the New Testament says on the subject, which has been largely ignored by the church world.
The anointing may come on you to lay hands on someone who needs healing. The Holy Spirit may give you a word to share with the church. You might see angels during the service. (It’s happened in this room before!) You might get a revelation about a specific situation someone is going through and how God is moving in it. He may want you to speak a message in tongues instead of English, or if someone else does it, you may be the one the Holy Spirit wants to use to interpret that message. We make room for this kind of thing in our services. So be ready!
